Envy

Image

Sometimes I yearn
to not think
but inhabit my body fully,
grounded in  immediacy
like children
one summery breath to the next,
or dogs,
existing in a
timeless condensed
moment,
pinned in place
by smell, touch, taste,
oblivious to regret stretching
like a highway in rear view mirror
or fear crowding horizon
as conquering army.
